Photos from explosions of cars and people
for 10-26
Today, several cars were exploded as part of the large
explosion. Members of the swat
team
are also rigged to fly away from the blast. The swat photos will be
posted over the weekend.
It was a cloudy day so extra lights were added to the open set
at Oak and Main Streets.
The large
metal structure is the rigging used to lift people through the air to simulate
an explosion.

The intersection of Oak and Main was turned into camera
alley. REEL EFX, Inc. had 145
cameras ringing the
intersection on two sides. They are taking images from
145 angles to make
some spectacular effects. Click on REEL
EFX, Inc. to see how the multicam cameras operate.

need a DSL
line to see the clips or wait 5 - 15 minutes for a clip to download on a 56k line.
Fonseca B95.1 DJ, interviews the"145 camera" operator.
A Swat Team crew member did not care
to be interviewed, so he put Fonseca down on the sidewalk
Fonseca recovered quickly and jumped into the police car to be
blown up. Matt checked
it out also. Be sure to come to downtown Ventura and see where the action took place.
The two cars were blown up and riddled with holes. Before
and after!
The WB crew gets the stage ready for the people being blown away
from the explosion which hit the
cars
above. The street is cleaned up and the cars were removed. These are
all special effects to give
the explosion a realistic look. Bring on the swat team!
Oak and Main Streets were cleaned up and pads were placed down
for the stunt photos. Swat members
were picked up by cables and hydraulic devices to look like they were flying
through the air from an
explosion. The metal structure below contained the mechanical devices for
the stunts. Matt interviews
stunt swat cast member Jack West.

The game was rained out before the stunts could be finished. Detailed
pictures of stunts will be posted
over the weekend.
